How Sinar Eco Resort Came To Be

2006

Bird House In 2006

A small plot of land was acquired by our family in the remote jungles off the JB-Pontian road. Apart from a couple of tall bird houses that stood out, the land was filled with shrubs and weed.

Surrounded By Oil Palm Plantations

For many years, that was all it was. A quiet space surrounded by the lush greenery of nature. A slow river rising and falling with the tide at the back fields with the thick foliage of mangrove trees waving across the river bank. It was a little slice of serenity and escape that our family enjoyed on the weekends.

2010

Fast forward 4 years, a decision was made to develop the land. A small swimming pool and a couple of farm animals, along with their housing was introduced.

We slowly added more activities that we liked and development over the next few years were slow as much of the work was done by the our family and a few farmhands. 2013 - 2015

2013 saw the addition of ATVs and in 2015, the decision was made to turn this family vacation land into a resort to share what we enjoy with the rest of the world!

2016

We decided to set up a resort that focuses on the great outdoors and eco-friendliness as we found the location to be a great escape from the stresses of city life. This set the foundation for our decision to refurbish used shipping containers into rooms and in 2016, we welcomed our first guest! 2018

Today, Sinar Eco Resort stands in stark contrast from its state in 2006 after going through significant development. However, this is not the end as we continue to develop the place through suggestions and ideas raised by guests and staff.
